Columbus: Places We Love

filed under  |

Glory to Columbus!

This blog was definitely a team effort! Not originally being from Columbus, let alone the state of Ohio, I had to do some digging and research. And sometimes I wonder what would we do without social media! I had to dig deep to come up with those “Places We Love”. Whether you are looking for a date night, a room to host a wedding shower, or just a place to cozy up with a good book and enjoy a glass of wine, we got you. We reached out on our social media pages and many of you made sure to let us know of the places you love and why!

Alright, let’s go explore Columbus, Ohio!

The Perfect Place to Brunch

The first place that comes to mind is Restoration Hardware (RH) restaurant at Easton Town Center. From the design showroom to the rooftop dining experience, you are brought to a magical and modern place. And, because it’s a gallery that has stunning retail concepts, this place is number one. Also, it delivers timeless cocktails and a great ambiance!

If you are looking for a hip, trendy hot spot (that offers wi-fi) you need to check out Sow Plated in Upper Arlington. You’ll see us there a lot! Featured on “Good Day Columbus“, this locally owned restaurant takes pride in the motto “good food = good mood”. Whether you dine-in, curbside pick-up or have it delivered, Sow has many delicious meal options that are gluten-free and vegan. Cold pressed drinks, on tap beers, and wines are sure to satisfy your taste buds. A few other favorites are Tucci’s in Dublin, Kraft House No.5 in Powell, Katalina’s in Clintonville/Harrison West and Pistacia Vera in historic German Village.

Breweries & Happy Hour

Why limit happy hour to just one hour? You don’t have to, if enjoying a glass of wine or a pitcher of beer pleases you. We got you covered with all of our favorite spots. Sit back, relax, & enjoy that drink or two!

A favorite place on our list is Beeline at Easton Town Center. This new & sophisticated lounge bar offers classy high-quality cocktails inside & an adjoining patio that host a variety of yard games. If you are looking for a real hidden gem (& I mean truly hidden) you must check out The Light of Seven Matchsticks in Worthington. This speakeasy bar whispers “Prohibition-era” with their dim lighting & secret menu. The only thing we can say about its location is look for Natalie’s coal-fired pizza and live music.

Now, for our beer-lovers out there we did not forget about you. Crooked Can Brewery Co. in Hilliard has quickly become a hot spot for locals. Drafts include Rose, Sours/Ciders, IPA, Lagers, & Ale’s. There is sure to be something for everyone. Nocterra Brewing Co in downtown Powell & Henmick Farm & Brewery in Delaware, make our top 5 list of breweries to check out.

Intimate Gatherings

Whether it’s a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or any small gathering, we’ve got the places to go!

Needless to say, I may be a bit biased but one of the places I always seem to recommend to people is 1808 American Bistro in Delaware. The staff is welcoming, the dining area has that cozy feeling, & their food has all your family traditions with a twist of modern cuisine. In addition, this charming restaurant has an upstairs loft that is ideal for rehearsal dinners or any small gatherings. With a full size bar, farmhouse style dining table, & a view of the marquee sign from the historic Strand Theater, this downtown restaurant will have you coming back for more.

Hen Quarter located at Bridge park in downtown Dublin is a sure crowd pleaser. And so with their southern flare entrees, they encourage guest to “come as they are & stay as long as they like”. Planning to host your next small event here, is a dream. Events may be customized to meet your needs which may include a wine pairing for your guest. High Line Car House near downtown Columbus & Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant at Easton Town Center round out our top spots for all your small gathering needs.

We hope this aids in whatever adventure you endure! Cheers!
