After months of quarantine you may be feeling a little uninspired about this year’s upcoming Thanksgiving celebration. We totally understand. Here in Columbus, both our Mayor and Governor have implemented strict Stay at Home Advisories. Although not an Order (yet), we’re still taking Covid pretty seriously around here.
While you may not be hosting a big family gathering this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun! Decorating for your immediate family can be just as lovey and intimate – just like a wedding. Celebrations of all kinds are sizing down, and family holidays are no different.
Lucky for you, we are happy to share our favorite Thanksgiving celebration inspirations! Even if just online, it’s fun to get in the spirit during such a crappy year.
This Thanksgiving we are inspired by monochromatic nudes and muted colors along with social distancing and hand washing, of course! Take a look at some of our favorite table settings and fashion pieces that have inspired us this fall.
We know Thanksgiving can come with a lot of pressure and stress, especially in the middle of the pandemic. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s how to simplify (and social distance). Some of our favorite table settings this year are simple. No crazy color scheme or floral arrangements. A set of nice dinnerware, natural colored linen, candlesticks, candles and linen napkins are all we need. If you want to dress your table up with some greenery and flowers, we won’t stop you! But the monochromatic simple table setting feels both modern and cozy for 2020’s one of a kind Thanksgiving!
And what’s Thanksgiving without pie? We are especially loving all the creative ways to dress up your pie with a pie crust design on top. From a simple lattice design, to leaves and flowers! While quarantined we all have a little more time to brush up on our skills, right? Okay… maybe not all of us, but we do have some excellent Columbus bakeries that could bake us something pretty! We also are excited about the idea of finishing off our place settings with a miniature pie at each seat. An individual serving to avoid unnecessary touching and passing of plates! Or as a take home gift for guests to enjoy at a later time.
Not only are we inspired by the monochromatic table settings, but also the monochromatic outfits. Specifically the color nude for our Thanksgiving celebrations. Nude feels like the perfect subtle fall color. The monochromatic ensemble is the perfect effortless look for your Thanksgiving celebration. We suggest multiple layers of monochromatic nudes to keep you warm and give you the ability to take a few layers off if you need to cool down after any heated dinner conversations 😉 It is 2020, after all. It’s a luxe look made easy!
We don’t want to over complicate Thanksgiving this year. Hug your people (in your household, of course) a little tighter, celebrate what you have, keep it simple and eat a slice of pie! Or any dessert. This year, we all deserve as much as we want! We are gearing up for our own small but mighty Thanksgivings here at home and wishing everyone a safe holiday celebration!
